Doncaster Dome Free Taster Sessions

On Saturday January 6th 2024, we’re running an afternoon of free MTB coaching taster sessions at the Doncaster Dome cycle track. The sessions will be aimed at young riders, ages 5 - 16. The sessions are all about having fun, making new friends & learning new skills in an engaging way. Our expert coaching team will lead the sessions, we’ll use our ramps and pieces of skills equipment to challenge riders’ skills and help teach some new ones.

Riders will be able to take part in our timed skills challenge and have the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes.

Session timings

We’re running 3 sessions for different ages and abilities.

  1.   13:00 – 13:45 | Learn to ride/ balance riders. A learn to ride session for anyone who can’t ride working on gaining confidence and balancing skills. All ages up-to 16.
  2.   14:00 – 14:45 | Pedal session for younger or less confident riders. We’ll use ramps/ equipment to teach riders some new skills and have fun. Ages 4 - 16.
  3.   15:00 – 15:45 | Pedal session for older/more advanced riders. We’ll use ramps/ equipment to teach riders some new skills and have fun. This will be a progression of the earlier session’s activities. Ages 6 – 16.

How to sign up.

You can sign up for the session through the team at Doncaster leisure using the following link - https://attractions.dclt.co.uk/the-dome/book/playzone/112

How much does it cost?

Nothing! Our taster sessions are completely free.

What equipment do I need?

Riders must bring a working bike and helmet. This is really important, if your bikes not safe or you don’t have a helmet you won’t be able to take part. The Doncaster dome will have bikes and helmets that can be hired out on the day.

No stabilisers please, if you can’t ride without them, please remove them before-hand and attend the 13:00 learn to ride session.

Appropriate clothing, the session takes place outdoors and will run whatever the weather, so make sure you bring waterproofs, gloves and wrap-up warm just in case.

Where are the sessions taking place?

At the Doncaster Dome Cycle Track, Bawtry Rd, Doncaster DN4 7PD.

Head to the cycle hub café building adjacent to the track (near car park 4), where you’ll meet our coaches. There’s a café where you can buy drinks and snacks, along with toilets and onsite changing rooms if required.
